Job Summary
Direct Care Staff provides direct supervision, support, and training to adults with disabilities served by North Valley Services. Responsibilities include supervising clients, implementing Individual Service Plans (ISP) and teaching skills and coping techniques, assisting with daily activities and personal care, facilitating meals in the nutritional cooking program, providing transportation and assisting clients on buses or vans, performing daily documentation, participating in agency trainings, and maintaining a positive professional demeanor. Requires High School education or equivalent, a California driver’s license with a clean driving history, ability to pass background checks and CPR/First Aid, and certification in NVS intervention training (ProAct, Behavior Tools, PCM Practitioner Level 1 or 2 depending on location). Schedule typically Monday–Friday with possible evenings, holidays, and weekends; in-person work in Orland, CA.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Current California driver’s license with insurability and DMV driving history (minimum 3 years)
- Ability to pass DOJ criminal background check
- Ability to pass CPR and First Aid
- Ability to be certified in all NVS intervention training including ProAct, Behavior Tools, PCM Practitioner Level 1 or 2 (dependent on location)
