Job Summary
Support members in daily living activities, health routines, and community access while following individualized plans with consistency and respect. Provide hands-on personal care, behavior support, meal preparation, and medication assistance under the direct supervision of a Team Leader. Document services accurately, communicate concerns to supervisors, and use positive behavior support and trauma-informed approaches to help members thrive in a stable home environment. This role is based in an Enhanced Behavioral Supports Home (EBSH) in Garden Grove, CA, serving adults with developmental disabilities and co-occurring conditions. Candidates must have six months of prior direct care experience, an active driver's license, and BLS/AED/First Aid certification prior to start.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months of prior experience providing direct care and special services to persons with developmental disabilities
- Ability to complete the required training for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 6 months of hire and obtain certification within 12 months, or be a Qualified Behavior Modification Professional and maintain credential through employment
- Within one year of employment, completion of both segments of the DSP competency-based training course, including competency tests, or successful completion of department-approved challenge tests for both segments
- Active driver's license and willingness to transport clients in a company vehicle
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver
- BLS/AED/First Aid (Prior to Start Date)
