Job Summary
Direct Care Specialist provide direct care and supervision to clients with developmental or other disabilities in settings such as an institution, shelter, group home, or school. Responsibilities include routine care and health assistance, assisting clients with life skills, reviewing and helping implement treatment plans, supervising activities, transporting residents, and providing paraprofessional support to teaching staff. Duties span clinical support (CPR, health care assistance, medication aide where applicable), behavioral observation and reporting, and administrative tasks (records, attendance, etc.). Positions are structured across Level I (entry) and Level II (full-performance) with education requirements of a high school diploma or equivalent; Level II additionally requires one year of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include Paraprofessional Certification and valid Oklahoma driver’s license. Background checks are conducted; travel may be required. The role is located at the Oklahoma School for the Blind (OSB) in Muskogee, OK. Equal Opportunity Employer.
