Job Summary

Direct Care Providers needed to support clients in the Big Bend region, delivering hands-on care in home and community settings. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), meal preparation, household organization, hygiene care, transportation to appointments, and implementing individualized care plans. Provide medication reminders, reinforce person-centered goals, document progress and incidents, ensure client safety per APD guidelines, utilize EVV for clock-in/clock-out, and communicate with families, support coordinators, and agency leadership. Must demonstrate strong communication, compassion, and flexibility to adapt to varying client needs and hours. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification, APD DCCC training, background screening clearance, valid Florida driver’s license, and experience supporting individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs. CNA/BLS/HHA/DSP certifications preferred. Employment is as an Independent Contractor (1099) with opportunities for Full-Time and Part-Time shifts across Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, and Wakulla counties, with travel within the selected county.

Required Qualifications

  • APD Direct Care Core Competencies (DCCC) Training Certificate (required within 30 days of onboarding)
  • Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs
  • Proven track record providing one-on-one care in home or facility settings
