Job Summary
Instruct, supervise, and evaluate individuals with developmental disabilities in community living while implementing behavior plan interventions and administering medications. Provide direct care including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and physical transfers, and assist with medical and social appointments. Maintain residence cleanliness and manage transportation using a valid driver's license. Document all instructional programs, shift reports, and activities, and participate in on-the-job training and required meetings. Adhere to agency safety standards, policies, and RTR philosophies while representing a positive attitude with families and referral agencies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet
- Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency mandated trainings, including medication administration
- Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Must be fluent in English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
