Job Summary
Conduct thorough patient assessments, design personalized care plans, and administer medications while monitoring vital signs and responding promptly to condition changes. Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members, educate patients and families on health conditions and post-discharge care, and document all interventions per regulatory standards. Uphold patient safety, adhere to evidence-based protocols, and utilize sound clinical judgment to address complex health situations. Work nights in a Magnet®-recognized facility serving the region with advanced imaging and stroke center capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- Critical Care/Intermediate Care Unit - Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire
- Emergency Care - ACLS & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire
- Oncology Care - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire
- Women's Care - Perinatal departments; Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) within 6 months of hire
- Inpatient Pediatrics - PALS within 90 days of hire
- Sound clinical judgment
- Sound knowledge and understanding of routine nursing procedures and RN and LPN scope of practice
- Competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process
- Clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by clinical area(s)
- Third (Nights) shift availability
