Dir, Wholesale Natural Gas Marketing

Job Summary
Lead SouthStar's Large Commercial & Industrial organization by driving revenue growth through the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of high-value wholesale natural gas transactions. Manage a team of commercial professionals responsible for customer acquisition, account management, and business development within core markets including GA, FL, Carolinas, IL, OH, MI, and PA. Direct the full lifecycle of Asset Management Agreement (AMA) origination and NAESB agreements, partnering with Trading, Risk, Operations, Credit, Legal, and Customer Operations teams to optimize assets and mitigate risk. This role requires a hybrid schedule with one remote day and occasional local or overnight travel. Success demands deep expertise in the energy sector, including federal and state regulations, asset optimization, and portfolio risk management, alongside over 20 years of experience in wholesale markets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or related discipline
- 20+ years of experience acquiring and managing customers and assets in wholesale markets, with a particular focus on the Southeast & Midcontinent United States
- 10+ years in a leadership role in the energy industry
- 10+ years experience negotiating and executing AMA agreements, including complex, multi-year agreements
- In Depth understanding of federal and state regulations impacting both physical and financial trading Examples include pipeline tariffs, Utility tariffs & Federal regulations impacting both markets
- Advanced understanding of the principles of physical and financial natural gas trading markets and how underlying AMA transactions create commercial value for the Company
- Expertise in spreadsheet modeling and financial analysis
- Excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills
- Hybrid schedule in the office/on-site with 1 remote day from home and subject to change per business
- Occasional local and overnight travel
