Job Summary
Director, Privacy Officer & DPO, EMEA in Zug, Switzerland leads the DePuy Synthes privacy program for the region, serving as the Data Protection Officer responsible for privacy governance and regulatory compliance. Advises business partners on privacy requirements across research & development, product development, commercialization, clinical activities and lifecycle management; embeds privacy-by-design across operations and digital products; oversees regional DPIAs and data transfer assessments; supports incident response and regulatory communications; provides privacy training and governance to cross-functional teams; interacts with regulators and internal stakeholders to sustain a culture of data protection and accountability. Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 10–12 years of privacy/data protection or related legal experience; GDPR/global privacy knowledge; strong leadership and collaboration skills; fluency in English with German preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience as Data Protection Officer (DPO) or in a senior privacy/compliance role
- Strong working knowledge of GDPR and global privacy regulations
- leadership experience in privacy programs across a large organization
- Preferred: JD/LLM/MBA or related advanced degree
- 10–12 years of progressive experience in privacy/data protection/cybersecurity or related legal roles
