Job Summary
Director of Merchandising Strategy leads strategic initiatives within merchandising, driving business simplification, process design, and cross-functional integration. Responsibilities include developing category strategy, collaborating with finance on category-level P&L and scorecards, producing dashboards and analyses for executive decision-making, evaluating new business opportunities (competitive, financial, market, tech platforms), and partnering with HR and administration to plan talent and budgets. The role requires extensive cross-functional leadership across merchandising, vendors, supply chain, stores, finance, and other stakeholders, with accountability for tracking progress on projects, improving productivity and online experiences, and aligning strategic goals with operational execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Strategy, Retail or related field or equivalent years of experience
- 10 Years Experience in business, including 4+ years in retail or vendor environment
- 3 Years Experience leading cross functional teams, large projects or team development and influencing leadership
- 3 Years Experience managing operational or strategic project/programs inclusive of financial budgets and leading defined workstreams
- 3 Years Experience working on projects/programs requiring integration of cross functional business solutions
