Job Summary
Prepare healthy meals and ensure patients receive proper foods based on dietary needs by collaborating with dieticians to manage allergies and restrictions. Set up dining areas with attention to cleanliness, deliver dishes to designated rooms, and collect plates and glasses after meals. Clean food stations, wash dishes and silverware, stock ingredients, monitor inventory, and assist with menu planning and expense tracking. Maintain kitchen equipment and adhere to sanitation and safety guidelines while operating cookware and appliances. Work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, lifting up to 60 pounds and working in hot, damp environments. Senior living experience and food service certification are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dietary aide
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
- Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions
- Apt in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances
- Friendly with good communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 60 pounds at a time
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently
- Must frequently immerse hands in water
- Must be able to work in a hot and damp environment
