Job Summary
Dinka Linguist position under YSG/TU for Language Support Services across multiple current/future requirements. Responsibilities include interpretation (in-person/virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction (classroom or virtual). This evergreen requisition covers a range of language support roles across the portfolio, with potential assignments on various contracts. Requirements emphasize ILR proficiency levels (CAT I–III), ability to translate/interprete accurately, cultural familiarity, willingness to work in challenging environments, and ability to work as part of a professional team. Security clearances may be required based on category, with CAT II/III requiring U.S. citizenship and appropriate security clearance. Travel may be required; locations include remote CONUS and specific sites such as Huntsville, AL and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, with a remote-work capability across CONUS.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at one of the following categories: CAT I, CAT II, CAT III
- CAT I: ILR level 2+ in English, local-national/third-country-national/uncleared U.S. Citizen, security vetted
- CAT II: ILR level 2+ in English, U.S. Citizens with SECRET clearance or interim TS eligibility
- CAT III: ILR level 3 in English, U.S. Citizens with TOP SECRET/SCI access or interim TS/SCI
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations of nontechnical material English↔foreign language
- Ability to conduct consecutive, accurate translation and interpretation
- Familiarity with local culture and customs
- Willingness to live/work in harsh environments or temporary facilities
- Ability to function under high pressure and as part of a professional team
- Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in English and foreign language related to Government roles/missions
- Fluency in English and foreign language including regionalisms/slang
- Interpretation that is accurate without changes or omissions
- Preserve tone and register of source materials
- Additional qualifications may be specified per task order

- U.S. Citizens or local nationals for certain CAT levels; security clearance required per category
