Job Summary
Supervise the Dining Room area and server stations, including table pedestals, place settings, and lighting, when the Dining Room Manager is absent. Coordinate resident and guest seating efficiently while scheduling wait staff assignments and verifying meal counts, reservations, and additional charges using the point-of-sale system. Confers with the Dining Room Manager, Executive Chef, and Director of Food & Beverage regarding dining status, food, staffing, or service issues. Make morning rounds to Market, Dietary, and Kitchen to check staff levels, provide coffee services for events, and carry the Food & Beverage cell phone for callouts. Waits tables and delivers beverage and bar services as needed while participating in cost control, inventories, and in-service training. Available 7 days a week between 6:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- A minimum of one-year Host/Hostess or Lead Server experience within fine restaurant, club, hotel or similar institution
- Available 7 days a week with availability between 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors and subordinates
- State applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card required
- Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time
- Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday
- Ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently
- Must be able to see, hear, and speak
