Job Summary

Provide exceptional dining service and ambiance for residents and guests while supervising dining room staff to ensure cleanliness, organization, and high-quality appearance. Manage financial transactions for happy hour, employee meals, and billing, and serve as a liaison between dining and kitchen teams. Maintain meticulous standards for food presentation, equipment safety, and inventory of linens and utensils. Conduct daily inspections, weekly audits, and pre-meal briefings to ensure compliance with local, state, and dining policies. Resolve complaints through active listening and coordinate special diets and equipment needs. Complete open and closing procedures, cross-train to cover other housing locations, and participate in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement activities. Work every other weekend, holidays, and special events as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 2-4 years' experience in food service
  • Knowledge of pertinent state/federal health and sanitation regulations
  • Competent in food service and delivery (portioning, presentation, temperature, etc.)
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and courteous manner and deliver an enjoyable dining experience that exceeds their expectations
  • Ability to provide consistent execution and exemplary service
  • Ability to coach other staff members to do the same
  • Ability to monitor many elements simultaneously and adjust priorities for food standards, presentation, safety, service, and speed as needed
  • Ability to complete tasks thoroughly
  • Ability to be a leader in the back and front of house
  • Ability to keep the team motivated
  • Ability to encourage timely service
  • Ability to resolve conflicts
  • Ability to respond quickly, calmly and appropriately to employee conflict, irate residents, and other sudden issues or problems
  • Ability to accurately and easily communicate standards to staff
  • Ability to give direction
  • Ability to speak clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds who may have physical, sensory and cognitive impairments
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills in MS Office and related software programs

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • ServeSafe certification
