Job Summary
Conduct cashier, server, and barista duties at the CSULA Food Court, including accepting payments, delivering food and beverages, and preparing hot and cold drinks. Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout areas, dining tables, and bar stations while sanitizing surfaces and monitoring inventory levels. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies, including uniform standards and punctuality, to ensure a safe and positive customer experience. Work an on-call flexible schedule up to 20 hours per week, including weekends and evenings, with an hourly rate of $18.42. Current CSULA students are required to apply, and a Food Handler's certification is needed upon hiring.
Required Qualifications
- Current CSULA Student
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to handle money accurately and operate a cash register/POS system
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a diverse population
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities
- Commitment to upholding food safety standards and maintaining a clean work environment
- Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
- The incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment
- A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily
- UAS hires only those individuals lawfully authorized to work in the United States
- A cover letter and resume are required
