Job Summary
Oversees and supports resident meal service while supervising evening staff. Completes cooking, administrative, and cleaning duties. Monitors meal services for quality, prepares food, and maintains hygiene standards. Conducts inventories and communicates needs with the Director of Dining Services. Requires high school education, food service experience, and certification. Physical work requires lifting and exposure to kitchen equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous food service experience required
- Must obtain Serv-Safe or Tazewell County Health Department certification within the first 6 months of employment
- Ability to understand directions, both written and oral
- Ability to read and understand recipes, weights and measures
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic knowledge of computer programs
Desired Qualifications
- Previous employee management experience preferred
- Previous quantity food cooking experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be available to work 10:30am-7:00pm four weekdays as well as every other weekend and a holiday rotation
