Job Summary
Oversee all aspects of dining services, supervising dietary associates to ensure regulatory compliance and quality food service within budget. Plan menus via the Grove system, manage inventory, purchase supplies, and prepare production sheets for the cook team. Direct personnel, assign duties, and schedule hours while maintaining a safe, sanitary department. Serve food according to portion control, follow standardized recipes including special diet orders, and participate in special events planning. Maintain equipment and attend required meetings, training, and programs. May participate in weekend Manager on Duty rotations. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Serv-Safe Certification Class
- Two years minimum experience in food service management
- Experience in a health care setting
- Be free from communicable disease
- Completion of drug testing
- Completion of criminal background check
- Must be able to cook
- Ability to follow standard recipes
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must have manual dexterity to peel, cut, and prepare different types of food
- Ability to work with a variety of kitchen machinery
- Ability to accept constructive input as to the quality of your meals/cooking
- Ability to relate to residents and associates in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances
- Familiarity with restaurant or cafeteria-style organization in regard to food preparation and service
- Familiarity with purchasing
- Familiarity with staff scheduling
- Familiarity with food cost control
- Familiarity with labor cost control
- Familiarity with quality control
- Experience in record keeping
- Experience in menu planning
- Ability to adhere to and carry out all policies and procedures
- Must be able to participate in weekend Manager on Duty (MOD)
Desired Qualifications
- Continued education in food service preferred including RD, CDM, or Culinary Degree
