Job Summary
Prepare and execute daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner services for the Brewster community while adhering to strict health and safety standards. Manage large-batch cooking operations with proper temperatures, timing, and presentation, utilizing standardized recipes and safe food handling practices. Maintain station organization, cleanliness, and sanitation before, during, and after service, including accurate temperature logging and periodic cleaning schedules. Communicate proactively with the Sous Chef, kitchen staff, and management to support overall dining hall operations. Deliver friendly, professional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This full-time, non-exempt role requires flexibility for afternoons, evenings, weekends, and various catering events throughout the year.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service
- Flexibility to work afternoons/evenings as well as weekends and various catering events throughout the year
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree (A.C.S.) or formal training in Culinary Arts
- ServSafe Certification
- Proficiency in commercial culinary techniques, batch cooking, and station management
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to meet strict meal production timelines
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedicated commitment to kitchen safety, sanitation, and customer service
