Job Summary
Deliver and retrieve food carts, set up trays, and serve meals to residents in a long-term skilled nursing facility. Process soiled dishes through the dishwasher, prepare nutritional supplements and tube feeding products, and wash pots and pans as needed. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout work areas by scrubbing floors and sanitizing equipment in accordance with established policies. Handle food and equipment according to sanitation procedures while observing proper food handling techniques. Assist in between-meal snack and beverage service and perform other tasks assigned by the Food Service Director. Maintain confidentiality of protected health information and participate in required in-services.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a nursing care facility or other previous service experience preferred
- Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to long-term care dietary requirements
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
- Ability to follow written and oral directions
- Ability to work independently
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, and visitors
