Job Summary
Handle food and equipment according to sanitation policies, observe proper food handling techniques, and ensure proper setup of food for tray lines and dining rooms. Deliver and retrieve food carts to and from client areas, set up trays for meals, and process soiled trays, dishes, and utensils through the dishwasher. Assist in serving food, prepare snacks and beverages from between-meal services, and prepare nutritional supplements and tube feeding products for delivery. Wash pots, pans, and other equipment as necessary while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout work areas by scrubbing floors and sanitizing equipment. Perform daily or scheduled cleaning duties and other tasks as assigned by the Food Service Director. Maintain confidentiality of all protected health information. Shifts available 11:30am-8pm and 4pm-8pm.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate or will obtain within 30 days after employment
- Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to long-term care dietary requirements
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
- Ability to follow written and oral directions
- Ability to work independently
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, and visitors
- All offers of employment with Sapphire Nursing are conditioned on completing and passing a background and drug test
- participating in mandatory vaccine programs (e.g., Covid-19)
- participating in testing requirements (e.g. Covid-19, TB)
- using designated PPE when required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a nursing care facility or other previous service experience preferred
