Job Summary
Serves meals in the dining room to residents and guests while ensuring proper dietary restrictions are followed and personal preferences are met. Sets tables, clears dishes, and maintains cleanliness in the dining area by washing pots, pans, and sanitizing equipment after each meal. Prepares food by assisting the cook, portioning meals and desserts, and utilizing the point of sale system for billing. Receives and stores food supplies, maintains temperature records, and complies with infection control protocols and safety legislation. Communicates effectively with co-workers, residents, and guests to address concerns and completes all required training and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of grade 12 education
- An understanding of food service and preparation
- Must have a valid regional safe food handler's certificate
- Must have a valid alcohol serving certificate
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language
- Dependable, responsible and an ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently
- Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
- Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
