Job Summary
Serves meals in the dining room to residents and guests while ensuring proper dietary restrictions are followed and personal preferences are met. Sets and clears dining room tables, portions desserts and snacks, and assists cooks in food preparation and assembly. Maintains cleanliness of dietary areas by washing dishes, sanitizing equipment, and adhering to continuous quality improvement standards. Receives and stores food supplies, utilizes the point of sale system, and ensures temperature records and food samples are taken and labeled as per regulations. Complies with infection control protocols, workplace safety acts, and mandatory training requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of grade 12 education
- An understanding of food service and preparation
- Must have a valid regional safe food handler's certificate
- Must have a valid alcohol serving certificate
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language
- Dependable, responsible and an ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently
- Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
- Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- All offers of employment are subject to a Criminal Background Check
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar serving position
