Job Summary
Dining Services Associate provides general support to a fast-paced campus dining location, including preparing and serving food to order, cleaning equipment and dining areas, washing and storing dishes, and assisting with catered events. The role operates seven days a week during the academic year, with a 9-month, 40 hours/week schedule and required evening and weekend work. Responsibilities include prepping and serving food, performing prep tasks (washing, peeling, cutting, seeding), weighing ingredients, transporting pans and trays, storing food per safety procedures, maintaining clean work areas and equipment, and handling guest orders via the point-of-sale system. Cash handling accuracy, guest service, and adherence to dining service standards and sanitation requirements are essential. Certification requirements must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Working conditions include lifting up to 25 pounds, physical demands typical of dining staff, and potential limited travel. Location is Davidson, NC, United States.
Required Qualifications
- Food Handler certification or certification required within 30 days of employment
- Allertrain lite certification or certification required within 30 days of employment
- Knowledge of safe food handling and standard sanitation practices preferred
- Seasonal and rotating schedule including evenings and weekends
- Physical demands: lifting up to twenty-five pounds; standing; bending; etc.
