Job Summary
Set up dining areas for meals and events, including table settings, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness. Greet residents and visitors, provide menus, and explain available specials while taking orders and communicating dietary restrictions to culinary staff. Deliver food and beverages accurately, monitor refreshments, and address additional diner needs during the meal. Clear dishes, transport them to the dish room, and scrape plates for washing. Communicate feedback to the Dining Room Coordinator and assist with assignments after gaining approval. Participate in daily taste panel meetings with culinary staff to review new menu items.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to clearly and proficiently communicate with people of all ages and abilities, displaying consideration of their rights and sensitivities, while maintaining an energetic, positive attitude.
- Must be able to read and write English, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance and follow the dress code as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, rotating shifts, and occasional overtime.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Demonstrates freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis by a health screening performed by a physician prior to employment.
- Must be cleared in a criminal background check administered in the state of employment.
