Job Summary
Deliver courteous and efficient table service to residents and guests while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Assist with catering, room service, special events, and marketing functions to ensure smooth execution. Promptly take food and beverage orders, clear and sanitize tables, and manage daily checklists to keep dining areas welcoming and sanitary. Maintain knowledge of assigned responsibilities, adapt service to individual resident needs, and support cost-control efforts by minimizing waste. Safely operate kitchen equipment, follow recipes accurately, and adhere to all infection control and food safety regulations. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to uphold a safe, positive environment reflecting Cedarhurst's commitment to quality service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently
- Ability to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to identify/interpret written information
- Ability to follow all infection prevention and control protocols
- Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to participate in all staff activities aimed at fostering teamwork, unity, and morale
- Ability to collaborate as a team player
- Ability to stay current on all training and ongoing education initiatives
- Ability to actively pursue self-improvement
- Ability to embrace opportunities for continuous learning
- Ability to complete a background check
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Ability to participate in required health assessments
- Ability to use designated personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and applicable law
Desired Qualifications
- Up to two years of prior experience
- Senior living experience
- Relevant state or county licensure
- Ability to obtain licensure if required by the state in which employed
- CPR or BLS certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable
