Job Summary
Provide high-quality meal service in the dining room by taking accurate orders, relaying them to back-of-house staff, and ensuring hot food stays hot and cold food stays cold. Learn individual resident names, dietary needs, likes, and dislikes while maintaining a sanitary, infection-free environment. Assist with special functions, oversee bistro areas including food presentation and stock, and sanitize tables, chairs, and floors after each meal. Participate in the Quality Assurance Committee and attend all mandatory trainings and meetings. Work full-time Sunday through Thursday from 6am to 2pm at MorningStar Senior Living in West Des Moines, applying our core values of love, kindness, and respect to care for our resident-heroes.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of ADA, state, infection and control, health department, and OSHA
- Must serve hot food hot and cold food cold
- Attend all trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in the dietary department of a health care facility or restaurant
