Job Summary
Dining Room Manager leads and coordinates dining and culinary services within the Culinary and Nutritional Services Department, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and presentation, timely service, inventory management, adherence to diet orders, sanitation and safety, and collaboration with Nursing, Maintenance, and Housekeeping. Responsible for supervising and developing staff, scheduling, maintaining records, training, and contributing to quality assurance and infection control efforts. Requires ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain), at least two years in food service/hospitality, one year in supervision, proficiency with Windows/Microsoft Office and POS/diet-management software, and strong English communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- ServSafe certification required or willing to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- Experience: Two years experience in a food service and/or hospitality environment required. One year experience in food service and/or hospitality supervision preferred.
- Knowledge of service operations with focus on quality, sanitation, cost control, and presentation required.
- Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation required.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the internet required.
- Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) and diet management software preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
