Job Summary
The Dimensional Engineering Specialist specializing in chassis commodities will define and establish datum schemes, tolerances, and requirements for vehicle chassis. Responsibilities include serving as Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) lead for feasibility assessments, overseeing drawing-check processes, implementing measurement strategies, and approving fixtures in accordance with project requirements. Candidates should possess in-depth knowledge of chassis commodities, 1D/3D stack-up analysis, advanced GD&T principles, and proficiency in CATIA (V5 and V6). A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6-8 years of dimensional management experience are required.
Required Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of chassis commodities within vehicle requirements
- Proficiency in performing 1D/3D stack-up analyses to evaluate design feasibility
- Ability to organize and present complex technical information in a clear, concise, and impactful manner across the organization
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T principles, with proven ability to create and validate technical drawings
- Proficiency in CATIA (V5 and V6)
- 6-8 years’ experience in dimensional management
- Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and process control
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Build troubleshooting
- Capability to train and mentor team members
- Strong understanding of Variation Simulation Analysis tools
- Knowledge of measurement systems and manufacturing processes
- Understanding of dimensional engineering deliverables within the vehicle development process
- Proficiency in standard PC tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
