Job Summary
Digital Video Editing Teacher (Part Time) plans and facilitates collaborative digital video editing instructional sessions under the supervision of the Director of Educational Development. Meets regularly with the Director, plans and facilitates learning sessions, assists students in developing digital video editing skills, maintains communication with the Director, models appropriate academic and social behaviors, and performs other duties as assigned. Requires a bachelor’s degree, teaching/tutoring experience, and extensive digital arts experience; duties include creating unit/lesson plans aligned to standards, data-driven instruction, and the ability to teach students of varying skill and experience levels across multiple programs. The role emphasizes instructional planning, student mentorship, and digital arts instruction in a Bronx, NY setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a bachelor's degree
- teaching and/or tutoring experience
- extensive digital arts experience
- ability to develop unit and lesson plans referencing content curriculum standards
- ability to collect and analyze data to drive instruction
- ability to instruct students of varying skill levels in multiple programs based on interest and ability
- ability to work with students of diverse ethnic backgrounds and skill levels
- good interpersonal and organizational skills
- demonstrated responsibility, discretion, and flexibility
- ability to work independently with critical thinking and problem solving
