Job Summary
Design and develop advanced radar signal processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification, leading new capability development with minimal guidance. Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and resource constraints while implementing code in C++, Python, MATLAB, and hardware on FPGAs and DSPs. Analyze radar data to evaluate system performance, develop simulations and models for the signal processing chain, and plan field tests. Contribute to system requirements and document technical findings for leadership. Mentor junior engineers and lead systems engineering design for cutting-edge radar capabilities at CHAOS Industries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or another related field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience of radar systems
- Deep understanding of radar systems and modes
- Strong understanding of radar principles, signal processing techniques, and algorithms
- Strong familiarity with programming languages like Python or MATLAB
- Systems Engineering experience with RF (Radio Frequency) Systems
- Expertise in digital signal processing (e.g. modulation, filtering, and detection)
- Expertise in algorithm development
- Expertise in data analysis
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Work full-time onsite at our office in Hawthorne, CA
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or another related field or equivalent work experience
- Expertise with radar waveform design, matched filtering, doppler processing, and clutter rejection techniques
- Strong foundation in both sides of the Systems Engineering V
- Experience with C++
