Job Summary
Lead growth strategies across AtlantaBlackStar.com, Finurah.com, and TheShadowLeague.com by identifying and managing syndication partnerships with publishers to extend reach and secure distribution opportunities. Own subscriber acquisition for newsletters and Substack, developing segmentation strategies to deepen loyalty and optimize engagement across all three properties. Execute platform-specific community building on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit, using analytics to inform editorial strategy and optimize organic reach. Manage operational budgets for platform tools, track performance metrics across channels, and collaborate with sales and editorial teams on audience goals tied to sponsorship commitments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or comparable field
- 5+ years in audience development, distribution, or digital media strategy
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling newsletter or email programs
- Proven track record securing and managing content distribution or syndication partnerships
- Deep platform fluency across social, newsletter, and emerging distribution channels
- Strong creative instincts for identifying and activating non-obvious audience pathways
- Proficiency in analytics tools including Google Analytics, social platform insights, and email performance metrics
- Experience with A/B testing, SEO, and data-driven content optimization
- Deep understanding of how race and culture shape the experiences and media consumption of Black audiences
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with social management tools a plus
- Proficiency in Canva; Adobe Suite experience a plus
