Job Summary
Digital HW Engineer 4 needed to support SiGe and CMOS research and development and chip design in the Optical Modules Group (OMG) in Sunnyvale, CA. The role involves hands-on work across tool flow including foundry interface, PDK installation/support, tool evaluation/installation, layout, archive and tapeout. Must be expert in analog and mixed-signal design, with responsibilities to install, customize and support PDKs for SiGe/CMOS processes, and to develop design standards, IC development processes, CAD tools and flows; lead layout efforts and tapeout. Requires strong experience with high-speed (10–40 Gb/s), broadband, mixed-signal ICs; Cadence Virtuoso/ADE; Mentor Calibre; Unix/Linux; and programming skills. Education: BS with 5+ years, MS with 4+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Expert in high-speed analog and mixed-signal IC design concepts
- Fluent with analog EDA front and back end tools (Cadence Virtuoso, ADE)
- Strong SKILL programming
- Mentor Calibre (end user support and rule deck writing)
- Strong UNIX/Linux knowledge
- Experience with configuring, documenting, and maintaining high-speed analog IC design flows
- Experience with transistor-level IC design and verification software (Cadence Composer, Cadence Virtuoso, Cadence Spectre, Virtuoso AMS, Mentor Calibre, Skill language)
- General understanding of digital physical design flows (RTL, place and route, DRC/LVS)
