Job Summary
Digital Forensic Examiner II performs forensic analysis on electronic devices including mobile devices, tablets, GPS equipment, and desktop/laptop computers; writes scripts and uses decoding/decryption techniques and SQL to analyze data; validates results with various tools (including hex editors); conducts data recovery across NTFS, exFAT, APFS, and HFS+ file systems; conducts research to inform policies on seizure and collection; prepares thorough reports and testifies in Grand Jury and Trial proceedings; images storage devices and conducts examinations; participates in executing search warrants involving digital evidence; serves as SME to guide ADAs and Investigators on seizure, preservation, and collection; provides guidance to junior lab personnel; handles case intake and chain-of-custody documentation; disassembles, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots computer hardware; and performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in related duties
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of related experience
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above with at least one year of additional experience
