Job Summary
Contribute to the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of DCJ websites and intranets while delivering high-quality digital products within an agile, multi-disciplinary team. Develop accessible, responsive, and user-centred digital experiences that align with web standards, accessibility requirements, and best practices. Support project delivery through planning, quality assurance, documentation, and ongoing platform improvements to drive business outcomes using innovative technology. This role reports to the Senior Digital Development Officer and collaborates with the Communications Branch to ensure solutions meet documented requirements and support the department's strategic objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment for government digital communications, including security, accessibility (including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines [WCAG AA]), usability, compliance with legislative requirements, brand management and procurement
- Knowledge of contemporary web and digital development standards and languages (e.g., JavaScript, XML, PHP, Java, React, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, HTL (Sightly))
- Experience with one or more Java concepts and patterns including: Java/J2EE, JSP, Spring, Sling, JMS, JUnit, MVC, Eclipse
- Experience with advanced web and digital product development techniques and frameworks including development of templates, workflows, and design patterns (e.g. Object-Oriented CSS and JS)
- Demonstrated experience working on large scale digital products powered by Enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Adobe Experience Manager
- Knowledge of configuring and working with build tools and source code management systems (e.g. Git, SVN, Maven, Grunt etc)
