Job Summary
Write daily news stories in AP Style for digital, social, and streaming platforms while ensuring factual, grammatical, and legal accuracy. Send breaking news and trending push alerts, livestream events, and produce streaming content. Create memes, videos, and graphics for engagement, edit video using non-linear software (Edius preferred), and coach reporting staff on story presentation. Utilize analytics to track trends, review web metrics, and adjust content to optimize viewer interest. Collaborate with producers to integrate web and social elements into newscasts. Requires strong news judgment, time management skills, and flexibility to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent news judgment, organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
- Strong news background with the ability to make news judgments in high-pressure situations
- Scheduling flexibility
- Must provide a link to examples of recent work that demonstrate the required skills listed above
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
- 2 years in a newsroom
- Experience with non-linear equipment
