Job Summary
Digital Content Producer responsible for updating local website with high-performing content, from quick-hit local stories to enterprise reports. Build a loyal local audience by monitoring traffic patterns and audience interest, curating engaging content, writing compelling headlines, and packaging content to maximize page views and time on site. Produce short videos and select photos/graphics, craft app and email alerts, and promote content on social media. Analyze website traffic trends to inform daily and longer-term content decisions, collaborate with newsroom staff on enterprise content, and support brand management across broadcast and digital platforms. Requires 2 years of digital content/journalism experience, strong breaking-news instincts, excellent headline writing, SEO/AP Style familiarity, and proficiency with MS Office; HTML/CSS, Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere are a plus. Schedule flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in digital content and journalism
- Ability to be fast and first at breaking news; experience in a newsroom a plus
- Clever headline writer that gets readers to click
- Strong multi-tasking abilities
- Organized, technical problem solver and quick decision maker
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and AP Style
- Understanding of social media’s importance in reporting stories and delivering traffic
- Proficiency in MS Office; HTML, CSS, Photoshop and Adobe Premiere experience a plus
- Enjoys working in teams and has excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong communicator
