Job Summary

Write, edit, and publish breaking news, weather, daily news, sports, and feature stories across the station website and social media platforms. Craft compelling headlines and mobile push notifications for severe weather events. Collaborate with reporters and editors to ensure accurate, fast content distribution and manage live streams of newscasts and breaking news. Develop multimedia special projects and contribute ideas to grow digital platforms. Report to the News Director. Requires 1-3 years of experience in a professional newsroom, excellent AP writing skills, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays for a 24-hour news cycle.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a professional television newsroom or web-publishing environment
  • Compelling news and editorial judgment
  • Excellent AP writing skills
  • Basic knowledge of video editing
  • Experience with social media best practices
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights and weekends), holidays on short notice to cover a 24-hour news cycle
  • Work well in an environment with frequent interruptions
  • Proficiency in Photoshop
