Job Summary

Oversee online news content activities for KFBK, including social media, by planning, developing, and acquiring content while setting direction and tone. Create measurable demand generation campaigns to drive traffic to iHeartMedia websites, managing all aspects from landing pages to advertising across display, retargeting, mobile, and in-app channels. Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Sales, and senior management to shape strategies, devise unique features, and evaluate outside vendors. Contribute on-air segments for KFBK Morning & Afternoon News and cover breaking news events as requested. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, social networking platforms, Google Analytics, Hubspot, and Salesforce, with knowledge of Social Flow, Hootsuite, and Tweetdeck. Based in Sacramento, CA, this full-time role offers a salary between $70,304 and $80,000 and includes comprehensive benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficient in social networking platforms
  • Proficient in Google Analytics
  • Proficient in Hubspot
  • Proficient in Salesforce or similar tools
  • Ability to adapt in real-time to different breaking local news and/or national trending topics
  • Knowledge of social apps including Social Flow, Hootsuite and Tweetdeck
  • Highly proficient in digital content including websites, social media, blogs and mobile/tablet applications, video, etc.
  • Demonstrated excellence in demand generation marketing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven writing, editing, proofreading and copywriting skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High work standards
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a matrixed team
  • Experienced journalist who's covered and wrote news for either radio, television, newspaper, digital news
  • Some on-air experience on radio or television
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Marketing, Journalism or Communications
  • Non-Compete agreement
  • E-Verify participation

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Media experience preferred as a news reporter, anchor, or producer
  • Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return
