Job Summary
Lead Malala Fund's owned digital channels by executing platform-native strategies that grow audiences, mobilize supporters, and drive fundraising outcomes across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and Malala.org. Manage the end-to-end content pipeline from creative briefing through publishing, overseeing the Senior Content Producer and coordinating with global, country, and development teams to ensure strategic sequencing and ethical storytelling. Develop relationships with platforms, creators, and vendors while managing budgets for paid media and external production. Execute rapid-response communications during key advocacy moments and design campaigns that convert engagement into measurable advocacy and donor growth. Manage approximately 3-5 annual trips for in-person team meetings and content gathering.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience leading digital communications, social media strategy, audience engagement, or digital marketing
- Demonstrated expertise across major social platforms—including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and Facebook
- Experience developing and executing digital content strategies that have driven measurable audience growth, engagement, advocacy, fundraising, or brand awareness
- Experience designing or supporting digital fundraising campaigns
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret performance data, identify opportunities, test new approaches, and translate insights into strategic recommendations
- Experience managing external agencies, creators, platforms, vendors, partnerships, and budgets
- Experience leading communications for a high-profile, mission-driven organisation, public figure, or brand
- Understanding of global issues and cultural contexts, particularly across the regions where Malala Fund works
- Experience managing and developing direct reports
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through expertise, data, and sound judgement rather than positional authority
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach, with a willingness to experiment, learn, and continuously improve digital performance
