Digital Communications Librarian

Job Summary

Develop and maintain the library website code base, updating content based on staff priorities and documenting standards for future development. Instruct staff on content management tools and provide direct assistance to patrons, including interviews, equipment troubleshooting, and technology training. Evaluate digital communication tools to optimize library resource usage and generate usage reports. Collaborate with regional librarians to plan community services and lead or participate in teams addressing specific library needs. Maintain required contacts on field developments and coordinate programming workshops as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters of Science degree in Library Science from an accredited program
  • one to three years related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science or related fields
  • Broad knowledge of advanced professional library science
  • Demonstrated experience with HTML coding
  • Demonstrated experience with website content management systems
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as routine reports and procedures manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to present information effectively
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
  • A strong commitment to public service
