Job Summary
Digital Communications Architect with 15+ years in high-speed digital, DSP, and RF systems for terrestrial and space applications will lead development of innovative digital communications products from concept to deployment. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership in proposal efforts, developing customer-facing technical documentation and presentations, shaping project direction during capture, conducting feasibility studies, defining Statements of Work and Requirements for contract definitization, evaluating technologies, guiding transitions from R&D to full product execution, and making make-vs-buy decisions. The role requires deep systems architecture expertise for terrestrial and space-based platforms, FPGA design and verification, digital beamforming, radiation mitigation in commercial ICs, PCB design for high-speed digital and RF boards, and mentoring cross-functional teams. Candidate must support technical proposals and customer interactions, and possess a proven track record in complex system-level solutions, with U.S. Citizenship and active security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in high-speed digital, DSP, and RF systems for terrestrial and space applications
- Strong background in digital communications systems, RF architecture, FPGA design, and DSP algorithms
- Expertise in satellite communications payload architecture, including digital channelization and digital beamforming
- Deep understanding of radiation effects and radiation mitigation in commercial ICs
- PCB design, layout, and fabrication of high-speed digital/SERDES, RF, and hybrid stack-up boards
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers
- Proven experience in supporting technical proposals and customer presentations
- US Citizenship required; active security clearance
- Experience with design and simulation tools for digital, RF, and DSP systems
