Job Summary
Digital Buildings Engineer role in Pune, India, focusing on integrating building management systems (BMS), IoT devices, and facility management solutions with cloud platforms. Responsibilities include assessing and documenting existing building systems architecture (BMS, HVAC, lighting, energy management, IoT), designing and configuring cloud infrastructure to collect and process data across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, developing secure data flow protocols, qualifying IoT devices, troubleshooting data transmission and interoperability, collaborating with manufacturers and IT/facility teams, implementing encryption and access controls, conducting pre- and post-onboarding testing, analyzing building performance data for sustainability and operations insights, maintaining thorough documentation, and providing training and stakeholder communications. Strong emphasis on cybersecurity, IP networking, cross-functional collaboration, and cloud/platform experience is required. The role expects 5+ years in building automation or IT/infrastructure, a Bachelor’s degree, and experience with BMS like Niagara/Delmatic/Delta/LoRaWAN, as well as cloud certifications and analytics capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in building automation systems design, cloud integration, systems integration, or IT infrastructure roles
- Demonstrated expertise in building controls systems and automation technologies
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data security protocols for cloud integrations
- Proficiency in IP networking fundamentals (IPv4, IPv6, switching, routing, DHCP, WiFi, structured cabling)
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) such as Niagara, Delmatic, Delta, or LoRaWAN
- Hands-on experience in IoT device qualification, testing, and integration
- Proven ability to conduct system audits and site surveys
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including IT, security, networking, and facility management
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple cloud platforms and diverse hardware/software ecosystems
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Preferred Certifications in BMS systems and Cloud platforms
