Digital Asset Manager, Creative

Job Summary

Lead the strategy, governance, and day-to-day management of the global digital asset management system, overseeing front-end and back-end design, administration, and lifecycle preservation of creative assets. Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy to enhance the system, manage vendor relationships, drive the roadmap, and implement AI tools for improved search and compliance. Serve as the staff point-of-contact for internal and external users, providing training, technical support, and rights management workflows while auditing metadata and ensuring brand alignment. Supervise a Digital Asset Specialist in categorizing, clearing, and distributing imagery to media partners and press portals, and manage stock purchasing across affiliate websites. Set system KPIs, perform regular audits, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize user experience and accessibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in library and information science or related field
  • Eight (8) years of work experience as a Digital Asset Manager, or similar position
  • Three to five (3-5) years of prior experience in people management, with the ability to coach, prioritize, and delegate work to direct reports
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience independently managing the relationship and communication with an enterprise digital asset management system vendor
  • Demonstrated experience with Aprimo or other enterprise digital asset management system
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise digital asset management systems, with the ability to independently manage both the front and back-end of the system
  • Proficient in JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), and familiarity with Markdown or basic HTML
  • Expert understanding of taxonomy, metadata, rights management, and copyright
  • Clear understanding of brand standards and management. The ability to oversee and evolve brands as organizational goals evolve
  • Keen eye for the selection of imagery that is in line with our organizational goals and brand standards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects or processes with limited oversight, including cross-functional planning, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and delivery against timelines
  • Understanding of current trends in AI, and familiarity with content authenticity metadata
  • Excellent creative thinking skills with the ability to continuously innovate
  • Understanding of integration tradeoffs, data model design, risk management, change management, and stakeholder negotiation
  • Understanding of creative operations and workflow managment and design
  • Expert knowledge of the current trends in digital asset management
  • Experience working in a Macintosh environment with excellent technical knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable learning new tools and workflows (including AI-assisted search/tagging features within the digital asset management system)
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines
  • High energy, self-motivated and proactive
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments, while facing difficult projects that are often complex in nature
  • Ability to exercise judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member in a team environment
  • This is a full-time remote position based in the United States
  • Candidates must be able to accomodate Eastern Time hours, as needed
