Job Summary
Digital Architect position within Alberta's Technology and Innovation ministry. Role involves shaping the government-as-platform vision, advising leadership on platform direction, driving platform practices and standards (interoperability, data platforms, modern delivery), building stakeholder relationships across ministries and partners, guiding platform design and technology to align with enterprise architecture and governance, advancing AI and automation to improve planning and delivery, and translating complex technical concepts into actionable guidance while supporting performance insights and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Commerce) supplemented by four years of progressively responsible, related experience
- Experience working as a software architect or senior developer within Agile delivery environments, including leading and delivering complex solutions
- Experience using AI-enabled or automation tools to support analysis, planning, delivery, or decision-making in digital environments
- Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor teams, implement best practices, and lead projects to successful outcomes
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts and provide advice to inform solution architecture and decision-making
- In-depth knowledge of software architecture principles, including DevOps, CloudOps, and platform services
