Job Summary
Coordinate advocacy initiatives and government relations strategy, including meetings with provincial and municipal officials. Monitor legislative developments and prepare briefing notes, backgrounders, and meeting materials. Draft web and social media content, assist with media opportunities, and manage the advocacy network. Track campaign results, maintain stakeholder databases, and coordinate project timelines and calendars. Prepare reports for the CEO and support consultant and vendor coordination. This role supports the implementation of Hope Air's mission to ensure equitable access to health care for low-income rural Canadians through digital advocacy and public affairs.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years experience in government relations, public affairs, political offices, communications, public policy or advocacy
- Ideally in health care
- Excellent writing and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Interest in healthcare and public policy
- Highly proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with governments, nonprofits or associations is an asset
- Experience with digital advocacy tools, CRM systems, or email campaigns is an asset
- Contact management system experience is an asset
