Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients and residents. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during ward rounds to support discharge planning and counseling on diet modifications. Provide education to patients, families, and students while contributing to quality improvement initiatives and clinical research activities. Manage nutrition-related equipment supplies and maintain current knowledge through literature review and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Food and Nutrition from a recognized University
- Dietetic internship from an accredited program
- Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
- Restricted Activities A, B, & /or C may be required as listed on the posting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with and deal effectively with, patients/residents, families, staff, physicians, and other health care providers
- Knowledge of legislation and government policies and procedures related to healthcare
- Demonstrated ability to conduct patient/resident assessments
- Knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient/resident care
- Demonstrated ability to draw out information that will contribute to understanding the patient/resident's situation in order to explore issues beyond the initial concerns
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to work independently and prioritize issues and workload
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to participate in research
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to students
- Demonstrated ability to develop and provide in-services and presentations
