Dietitian- Part Time 24 hours per week-Day Shift

Job Summary

Coordinate outpatient counseling by scheduling patients, reviewing medical records, and assessing nutritional status through history, lab parameters, and weight analysis. Develop rapport to interview patients and families on habits and preferences, then provide education and recommend changes to physicians' orders for therapeutic nutrition. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and providers to implement care plans, manage TPN and tube feeding orders, and document progress in the EMR. Conduct quality improvement studies, participate in interdisciplinary committees, and develop educational materials for patients and community classes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition
  • Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist with State of Connecticut or certification eligible
  • Registered Dietitian (R.D.) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Proficient in MNT, nutrition and disease management
  • Knowledge of enteral formulas and TPN selection and management
  • Ability to provide clear and effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to make accurate decisions based on clinical knowledge
  • Ability to follow department standards, policies and procedure
  • Ability to converse with other medical professionals
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations on nutrition topics
  • Walking

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical or outpatient experience
