Job Summary
Provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients, including malnutrition assessments, nutrition-focused physical exams, and diet education. Consult with physicians and allied health professionals regarding patients' nutritional statuses and formulate assessment, evaluation, and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk. Participate in clinical rounds, department meetings, and cross-cover or train in areas such as the Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics. Review literature for Journal Club, present case studies, and develop or implement new education materials, policies, or QAPI projects. Maintain current credentials, complete yearly competencies, and assume other duties as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree B.S. degree with a major in Food & Nutrition Science from an accredited college or university and the completion of an accredited dietetic internship.
- Master's degree Master's degree from an accredited college or university if completed after January 1 2024
- Five years minimum of progressive clinical nutrition experience.
- REG DIET - Dietitian - Registered Commission on Dietetic Registration Upon Hire
- Dietitian DC DOH - DIETDC DC Department of Health-Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Upon Hire
Desired Qualifications
- 3-4 years Three years minimum of progressive clinical nutrition experience AND a Specialty certification recognized by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/or Commission on Dietetic Registration as a major certification.
- CNSC - Certified Nutrition Support Clinician Or other specialty certification recognized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and/or Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Upon Hire
