Job Summary
Dietitian I PRN provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients with diverse medical conditions. Responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, formulary recommendations, and nutrition-focused care plans; consulting with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; documenting findings in the medical record; cross-covering in/outpatient services and potential coverage across Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics; presenting at Journal Club and delivering a case study when possible. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition Science with completion of an accredited dietetic internship, a Master's degree, and active registration as a Dietitian (DC DOH licensure/certification). The role requires knowledge of clinical dietetics, proficient EMR usage, strong communication, time management, flexibility, and comfort with public speaking. Location is Potomac, MD, USA; no remote work indicated. Compensation range is $72,758.00 to $130,041.00 per year.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition Science from an accredited college or university
- Completion of an accredited dietetic internship
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university (required)
- REG DIET - Dietitian - Registered (Upon Hire)
- Dietitian DC DOH - DIETDC DC Department of Health-Board of Dietetics and Nutrition (Upon Hire)
- CNSC - Certified Nutrition Support Clinician or other specialty certification (preferred)
- Experience in progressive clinical nutrition (5-7 years required or 3-4 years with specialty certification)
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and professional documentation
- Ability to navigate EMR efficiently
- Public speaking ability
- Membership in a professional organization pertinent to the role
