Job Summary

Plan, develop, and provide diet interventions, medical nutrition therapy, and preventive counseling to individuals and groups across primary, specialty, acute, skilled nursing, outpatient, and community settings. Evaluate treatment effectiveness using an evidence-based approach, work on nutrition care protocols, and lead the health care team in implementing nutrition therapies. Identify nutritional intervention methods, educate clients and families on disease states and health risks, and update standards of care policy manuals. Optimize nutritional status through assessment, individualized care plans, and implementation of nutrition support, supplements, and counseling for chronic conditions. Perform quality control, maintain infection control mechanisms, coordinate educational activities, and participate in clinical performance improvement activities and research.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics or food and nutrition through an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited program
  • Master's degree designation
  • Clinical nutrition experience through an approved coordinated undergraduate program or successful completion of post graduate internship
  • Five (5) years experience as a clinical dietitian
  • Currently holds Registered Dietitian (RD) license within the applicable state(s)
  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Advanced certification from recognized entity such as: the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN), the national Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE)
