Job Summary
Plan general and therapeutic diets, including four-week cycle menus and special dietary modifications. Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients and residents, conducting initial and quarterly assessments while documenting food consumption and weight records. Inspect trays for identification and palatability, monitor food storage, and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to establish individualized nutrition care plans. Deliver nutritional education to patients, staff, and community groups through in-services and events. Maintain compliance with state licensure and continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition or related area
- Registered with the American Dietetic Association
- Licensed with the Iowa State Board of Examiners of Dietitians
- Must maintain continuing education requirements set by state licensure regulations and the commission on Dietetic Registration
- Valid driver's license
- Must carry their own automobile liability insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Masters degree with 2-5 years of clinical experience preferred
- One year of experience in clinical dietetics and/or food service management preferred
- Experience in both clinical dietetics and food service management preferred
